Terms of Use

Last updated 11 October 2026

These terms cover RotateFly, the flight-odds app for iPhone (it appears as Rotate on your Home Screen and on this site), and the rotatefly.com website and service behind it. RotateFly is provided by Neelesh Indra Nath (“we”, “us”). By downloading or using RotateFly you agree to these terms. How we handle data is covered separately in the Privacy Policy.

How these terms fit with Apple's

RotateFly is licensed to you under Apple’s standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the “Apple EULA”). These terms add to the Apple EULA; they do not replace it. If anything here conflicts with the Apple EULA, the Apple EULA applies.

We, not Apple, are responsible for RotateFly and for supporting it. Questions go to us at the address at the bottom of this page.

What's free

Looking a flight up is free. Enter a flight number and date and RotateFly shows the flight’s route and scheduled departure time. A lookup that fails, or that does not find a flight, costs nothing.

In the RotateFly app, a flight’s odds are locked until you unlock that flight. Your first two flights are free. Odds start 48 hours before departure: a flight unlocked earlier is watched, and its odds appear when that window opens. Adding a flight that has already been cancelled is free, because there is nothing left to track.

Unlocking a flight

Unlocking a flight gives you, for that flight:

  • its odds before departure, and what is driving them; and
  • tracking until it lands — the flight in your list, alerts when its odds or status change, and a Live Activity on the Lock Screen (and in the Dynamic Island on iPhones that have one). iOS ends a Live Activity after about eight hours, so on a long trip it can end before the flight lands; the flight stays tracked in the app.

A flight means one flight number on one departure date, so UA51 on 12 October and UA51 on 13 October are two flights. Each flight is unlocked once: removing it from your list and adding it back never charges you again.

Paying for flights

After your two free flights there are two ways to unlock a flight:

  • One flight — a one-time purchase that unlocks a single flight.
  • Rotate Pro — a monthly subscription that renews automatically and unlocks every flight while it is active.

For example, in the United States one flight is US$1.99 and Rotate Pro is US$2.99 a month. Prices in other countries are set through the App Store and shown in the app, in your currency, before you buy. The price Apple shows when you confirm a purchase is the price you pay, plus any tax Apple adds where prices are shown without it (as in the United States).

A one-flight purchase you have not used yet is kept as a credit and used for the next flight you unlock. Credits never expire.

Rotate Pro

Rotate Pro renews automatically each month until you cancel it. Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the subscription and again at each renewal. Apple tells subscribers in advance before a price increase takes effect.

You can cancel at any time in Settings › [your name] › Subscriptions on your iPhone. Cancelling stops the next renewal; Rotate Pro stays active until the end of the period you have already paid for. Flights you added to your list while subscribed stay unlocked after Rotate Pro ends.

Where your purchases are kept

RotateFly has no accounts. The number of free flights you have used, your unused credits and the flights you have unlocked are stored in your iPhone’s Keychain, on the phone itself. Nothing about your purchases is sent to our server; the App Store verifies each purchase on your iPhone. In practice:

  • On the same iPhone they are normally kept when you delete RotateFly and install it again, because the Keychain keeps them. If they are ever lost, email us.
  • They do not move to a new iPhone, and erasing your iPhone can remove them. Use any credits before you switch phones.
  • Rotate Pro belongs to your Apple Account, not to the phone. On a new iPhone, or if Rotate Pro is not showing, tap Restore Purchases in the app.
  • Restore Purchases restores Rotate Pro only. One-flight purchases and free flights are used up when spent, so there is nothing for it to restore; your unused credits and unlocked flights are the ones kept in your iPhone’s Keychain.

Payments and refunds

Every payment is made to Apple through the App Store, under Apple’s terms. We never see your payment details. We cannot issue refunds, and we cannot cancel a subscription for you — Apple handles both. To ask Apple for a refund, go to reportaproblem.apple.com. If Apple refunds a purchase, the credit or Rotate Pro access it paid for may be removed.

If you paid for a flight and it never tracked, email us with the flight number and date and we will look into it.

What the odds are, and what they are not

The odds are statistical estimates, calculated by a model from third-party and public data. They are not a guarantee that a flight will or will not leave on time, be delayed or be cancelled. A flight shown as very likely to leave on time can still be delayed or cancelled.

RotateFly is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to any airline or airport. Your airline is the authority on your flight: always confirm times, gates and status with the airline before you make travel decisions, and do not miss check-in, boarding or the trip to the airport because of anything RotateFly shows.

Where the data comes from

Flight schedules, status and positions come from third-party providers, including AeroDataBox and FlightAware. Airport status and ground delay programs come from the FAA, weather from the US National Weather Service, and on-time history from the US Department of Transportation. Any of these can be wrong, incomplete, late or unavailable, and when they are, RotateFly will be too. We do not control these sources and cannot promise that every flight, airline or airport is covered.

Notifications and Live Activities

Alerts and Live Activities are best effort. Whether and when one reaches you depends on Apple’s push notification service, your iPhone’s settings (Notifications, Focus, Live Activities, Low Power Mode), your connection, and our data sources reporting the change. They can arrive late or not at all, so never rely on them as your only source of information about a flight.

What you pay for is a flight: its odds and its tracking. Notifications and Live Activities are how tracking reaches you. They are not sold separately, and we do not charge for notifications themselves.

Not an official record

The times, delays and statuses in RotateFly are estimates from third-party data, not an official record, and are not intended as evidence for a compensation claim — for example under EU Regulation 261/2004 (“EU261”), its UK equivalent (“UK261”) or any similar rule. Nothing here limits your rights under those rules. Ask your airline for its own record of what happened to your flight.

Using the service fairly

The rotatefly.com website and its API exist for people using RotateFly and this website, and the flight data behind them is licensed to us for that purpose. You may not:

  • scrape rotatefly.com or its API;
  • access the rotatefly.com API other than through the RotateFly app or the rotatefly.com website, or with bots, scripts or other automated tools;
  • get around the app’s purchases, or unlock flights without paying;
  • copy, resell or redistribute the odds or the flight data; or
  • overload or disrupt the service.

We may block access that breaks these rules.

Our responsibility

The Apple EULA, which applies to RotateFly, includes a disclaimer of warranties and a limitation of liability. To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for decisions you make using RotateFly, or for their costs — a missed flight, a rebooking, a hotel night. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that cannot be limited.

Changes

We may change RotateFly — its features, its data sources, how the odds are calculated — and we may change these terms. When the terms change we will update this page and the date at the top. If a change materially affects what you have paid for or how purchases work, we will also say so in the app. A change to these terms will not take away flights you have already unlocked or credits you have already bought. If you keep using RotateFly after a change, the updated terms apply.
